Why Anklebiters?

People often ask about the name.
Anklebiters are the small things that quietly trip us up.
In organizations, they rarely announce themselves as major problems. Instead, they show up as difficult conversations that never happen, misaligned teams, unclear expectations, overlooked people, or small moments of frustration that gradually become barriers to progress.
Most leaders don’t struggle because they lack intelligence or commitment.
They struggle because the little things accumulate.
I founded Anklebiters, LLC around a simple belief: meaningful change doesn’t always begin with sweeping transformations. More often, it begins by noticing what others overlook, asking thoughtful questions, and addressing the small obstacles before they become larger ones.
That’s why my work starts with conversation.
When people feel heard, they begin to see new possibilities. When teams build trust, they solve problems together. When organizations pay attention to the “anklebiters,” they create cultures where people can thrive.
Because sometimes the smallest shifts create the greatest momentum.
